Launched in 1981, Office shoes is one of the leading high street shoe sellers in the UK, with over 80 stores and 50 concession stands, selling fashionable shoes for the mid-market.  Today the Office shoes website offers the full range of Office products, and represents the company’s  biggest store.

Going mobile

The e-commerce team had seen substantial growth in hits to the site through mobile traffic and decided to focus their resources into creating an app for the iPhone.  “We had the opportunity to provide customers with a way to essentially carry the whole Office range around in their pocket.” comments Office’s ecommerce Director Rob Worthington.

The Office app launched at the end of January before a month of live testing.  All functionality and design was done by Office’s in-house team and additional development work was undertaken by Sage Pay partner Sovoia. Sovoia is an internet start-up with the vision to simplify and enhance the online shopping experience via various platforms including mobile. The Sage Pay payment system was integrated into the back-office of the app by Sovoia and showcases the innovation of Sage Pay’s API and payment pages.

Forging great partnerships

Obaid Khawaja, Founder and CEO of Sovoia commented, “We were very excited when Office selected us as their mobile solutions partner.  What sets this application apart from its competitors is how fast it runs and loads, how easy it is to search for products using the advanced search feature as well as the dynamic merchandising capabilities which allow Office to push new deals and offers within seconds."

Obaid continued, “Sage Pay have been an excellent partner and have been there all the way, helping us to deliver a great app.  We really appreciate their 24/7 dedicated support to our development team and really look forward to working more with them in the future.”
